My name is Angelica.  I was born and raised in Palm Springs, California.  After stops (for school and work) in San Diego; Berkeley; Los Angeles; Washington, DC; and Los Angeles, I now live near the beach in Orange County.  I am an attorney with my own practice specializing in estate planning and probate. I have two cats and two French Bulldogs who make me smile everyday.

In 2005 I trained with the AIDS Marathon program and completed the Honolulu marathon.  I started training for a second marathon, but life events prevented me from continuing at that time.

2010 has been a difficult year for many reasons, about which I may elaborate later.  In an attempt to find focus on myself and find ways to deal with the stress and difficulties this year, I taught myself to knit and crochet, started taking pilates, and attempted to get back into running.  I have become almost obsessed with knitting.  My grandmother was an amazing knitter and I think the connection to her is one thing that is helping me through this rough period.  Pilates has been another great focus for me and I am really enjoying my progress.

Now running is another story.  I tried to get myself back into running earlier this year.  I have never particularly enjoyed running, but I’ve done it before and know it is good for me.  My attempt to go it alone was not very successful though.  So now I have joined Team in Training (TNT) to train for the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco in October.  I know the team training aspect of the program will help me stay committed.  I also will be raising money to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

This blog will chronicle my training and fundraising efforts with TNT and my continued pilates practice.  I will discuss my knitting progress, show off my projects, and maybe someday even some designs.  I will also talk about anything else that crosses my mind or happens in my life, especially my animals since they can be pretty entertaining.  From time to time I may discuss legal issues, but by no means does anything I write here constitute legal advice or create an attorney-client relationship.
